dust
Good morning, I hope you slept well.
Please gather these items for me and deposit them in the box.
Thank you.
dust is a narrative scavenger hunt game made in the Bitsy Game Maker by Adam Le Doux, with music by Rrrrrose (loyaltyfreakmusic) (CC0 1.0) implemented with the bitsymuse UI
one playthrough takes around 30 minutes if you take your time and 15 minutes if you rush it. there are 2 endings
view content warnings, tracklist, and item & ending guides here
dust can be played on any device with a browser and internet connection. the game does work on mobile devices via swipe and tap, but may become tiring to play after a while. please stretch your hands!
known issues:
- slower connections can cause the music to cut out or stop, as well as cause the game to lag
- dust has no save function, so i apologize if your progress is lost. while making it i was unaware of the hack implementing saved game data. i may add it later
- turning in items and checking the box again causes the game to tell you you still need to gather those items
- this is purely a cosmetic issue. your progress is still tracked by the box
- room transitions can be triggered by moving in any direction (WASD, ↑←↓→) which can be disorienting
if you encounter any bugs please let me know so i can try to fix them!
if you have any questions feel free to ask them here or on my tumblr
if you'd like to make a video of you playing dust please link back to this page and behave respectfully while playing (critique is OK). the protagonist uses they/them pronouns and is a minor

I just completed the two endings, I really really liked this game! The narrative is very interesting, the music fits so much, I hope there’s more about these characters in the future :)
thank you very much!
